In addition to hands-on physiotherapy, I use a range of evidence-based treatments to address muscle, joint and nerve issues following injury, post-surgery or to manage musculoskeletal conditions. Following a detailed assessment, we will select the most appropriate treatment options.

I utilise a variety of techniques proven to reduce pain and muscle spasm, increase circulation and range of movement, and promote tissue healing and healthy joint mechanics.

I use Various electrotherapy tools to promote tissue, reduce swelling and manage pain. Modalities include LASER, US, TMM, TENS and Muscle Stimulation.

Successful rehabilitation usually involves appropriate therapeutic exercises to increase mobility, strength, balance, coordination, confidence and function. This includes advice and education, personalised exercise plans tailored to your individual needs.

Strapping and taping has many uses including pain relief, support, lymphatic drainage, functional correction of normal movement, enhanced confidence and reduced risk of injury.

Rigid sports tape provides more support to joints, reducing the risk of injury recurrence. Kinesiology tape has elasticity which acts to dynamically support muscle function without limiting the range of movement.

At Physioplus we can help advise you on appropriate splints for you and your four-legged friends. We can direct you to the best manufacturers of both off the shelf and custom made orthotics to provide the optimal support where needed.

Physiotherapists use acupuncture to relieve pain from many different conditions. I have undertaken additional training and registration with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). I am bound by their strict codes of practice, thus ensuring treatment is safe, sterile and hygienic at all times. However, I can only perform acupuncture on humans. Only a trained Veterinary Surgeon can perform acupuncture on animals in the UK.

Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing. Pilates has something to offer people of all ages and levels of fitness and ability, including those with low back pain. Health benefits include improved posture, muscle tone, balance, joint mobility and reduced levels of tension.

Hydrotherapy works brilliantly in conjunction with physio to help rehabilitate dogs following, injury, illness or surgery. An underwater treadmill provides the benefits of swimming, alongside the control of water height and speed to facilitate optimal conditions.
